GROWING YOUNG ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDS

Everyday choices.
A healthier planet.

At Tagore Public School, Sector 50, Gurugram, we believe that caring for the environment begins with everyday choices. Our Eco Club for Mission LiFE provides students with a platform to understand environmental challenges, practise sustainable habits and take meaningful action within the school and the wider community.

Aligned with the Mission LiFE initiative of the Government of India and the environmental awareness objectives of the National Education Policy 2020, the Eco Club encourages students to move beyond simply learning about the environment and become active participants in creating a more sustainable future.

Through hands-on activities, awareness initiatives, projects and collaborative learning, students explore how simple changes in the way we use water, energy, food and other resources can contribute to a healthier planet.

What is the Eco Club for Mission LiFE?

The Eco Club for Mission LiFE is a student-led platform that encourages young learners to understand environmental responsibility and translate that understanding into action.

As outlined by the Department of School Education & Literacy, Eco Clubs enable students to participate in meaningful environment-friendly activities and projects. They also provide an opportunity for students to engage with their families and neighbourhood communities and encourage environmentally responsible behaviour.

At Tagore Public School, the Eco Club encourages students to ask questions, identify environmental concerns around them and work together towards practical solutions.

The objective is simple: learn, act and inspire others.

OUR MISSION

Building Responsible Choices for a Sustainable Future

The Eco Club at Tagore Public School aims to nurture environmentally conscious students who understand that sustainability is not limited to a classroom lesson. It is reflected in the choices we make every day.

Through experiential learning and student participation, the club encourages learners to:

SEVEN FOCUS AREAS. ONE SHARED FUTURE.

The Seven Focus Areas of Mission LiFE

The Eco Club's activities are aligned with the key action areas outlined under Mission LiFE.

01

Adopt a Healthy Lifestyle

Students are encouraged to understand how healthy and sustainable choices can contribute to individual well-being as well as environmental sustainability.

The focus is on developing everyday habits that are good for people and the planet.

02

Adopt Sustainable Food Systems

Food choices and food waste have an important environmental impact.

Through awareness activities, students learn the importance of reducing food wastage and making more responsible choices around food consumption.

03

Reduce E-Waste

Electronic waste is a growing environmental concern.

Students are encouraged to understand responsible e-waste management, including appropriate disposal and recycling practices.

04

Reduce Waste

The Eco Club promotes the 3 Rs: Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.

Students learn the importance of reducing waste at source, segregating waste responsibly and making conscious choices about what they consume and discard.

05

Save Energy

Everyday energy consumption can contribute to our environmental footprint.

The Eco Club encourages students to become mindful of energy use and adopt practices that help reduce unnecessary consumption.

06

Save Water

Water is one of our most important natural resources.

Students are encouraged to understand the importance of water conservation and practise efficient water use in school, at home and in their communities.

07 · EVERYDAY RESPONSIBILITY

Say No to Single-Use Plastic

The Eco Club encourages students to reduce their dependence on single-use plastic and make more sustainable choices in their daily lives.

Small changes in everyday behaviour can contribute to a cleaner and more resilient environment.

These seven focus areas are specifically listed in the official Eco Club Mission LiFE notification framework.

Learning to care for nature, one small action at a time.

LEARNING BEYOND THE CLASSROOM

From Awareness to Action

Environmental education becomes more meaningful when students have opportunities to experience it first-hand.

The Eco Club creates opportunities for students to connect what they learn in classrooms with real environmental issues around them. Activities can involve observation, discussion, project-based learning, awareness campaigns and practical initiatives related to conservation and responsible resource use.

This approach supports the broader purpose of Eco Clubs for Mission LiFE, which is to allow students to explore environmental concepts and actions beyond the boundaries of the regular curriculum.

At Tagore Public School, the Eco Club can serve as a space where curiosity leads to action and where students learn that sustainability is a shared responsibility.

STUDENT PARTICIPATION

How Our Eco Club Works

The Eco Club brings together students from different grades, creating opportunities for learners to collaborate, share ideas and take responsibility for environmental initiatives.

As per the official guidelines, an Eco Club comprises 4 to 5 students from each grade, with a student appointed as the Eco President. School Management Committee members and staff may also support Eco Club activities.

This structure encourages students to take ownership while working under the guidance of the school.

OUR STUDENTS, OUR COMMUNITY

Inspiring Change Beyond the School Campus

One of the important objectives of Eco Clubs for Mission LiFE is to encourage students to engage with their parents and neighbourhood communities and promote environmentally responsible behaviour.

Through conversations, awareness initiatives and sustainable practices, students can take what they learn at school back home and into their communities.

This creates a wider impact where one student's learning can influence an entire family and, eventually, a larger community.

OUR COMMITMENT

Small Actions. Meaningful Change.

At Tagore Public School, we believe that environmental responsibility is built through consistent everyday actions.

The Eco Club for Mission LiFE gives students the opportunity to understand the relationship between their choices and the environment, take practical action and encourage others to participate.

From saving water and energy to reducing waste, preventing food wastage and saying no to unnecessary plastic, every responsible choice contributes to a more sustainable future.

When students learn to care for the environment today, they become responsible stewards of tomorrow.

LEARN. ACT. INSPIRE.

Be a Part of the Change

Environmental responsibility begins with awareness, but it grows through action.

At Tagore Public School, our Eco Club for Mission LiFE encourages students to learn, participate and make sustainable choices every day.

Learn. Act. Inspire.
